Become a New Day Foster Parent

Things You Will Need to Get Started

Completed and signed copies of the forms above.

A copy of your automobile liability insurance and current Driver's License for each driver in the household.

Bacterial test on your well water if you are not served by a city water system.
Things We Will Provide for You When We Meet

State of Montana Certificate of Immunization for each child in your household under the age of 12.

Licensing/Re-Licensing Agreement - A Foster Care staff member will go over this with you during a home visit.

Fingerprint Card for each adult in the household over the age of 18. We will take your prints for you and send them to Helena.
What Happens Next?
Once you've completed all of the forms, and if you're selected, you and your family will be invited to our next available series of training sessions. We will let you know when that will be and we will help you with transportation or child care if you need it.
When you've successfully completed the required training hours: 3 hours of Orientation, 15 hours on General Foster Care Family training, and 15 hours of Therapeutic Foster Care Family training you will be ready for a Home Study. After successfully completing the Home Study your family will be ready to receive a foster child. We will make every attempt to match your preferences and the needs of the children that come into our care.
You have to maintain your training every year, but we will be there to help you with that. We'll also be there to provide counseling and support any time of the day or night that you feel you need it. We'll also help out with Respite opportunities, peer Youth Groups for the kids, organized family events, special training opportunities and much more.
